Board Members

Ron Niesing, President
I was initially drawn to the Mediation Center because I wanted to help people as they face various types of disputes in their lives.  Being able to bring parties together to a mutually agreed upon solution to their disputes can be very satisfying.  Even in cases where agreements are not reached, each party comes away from the discussion having a better understanding of the issues and the steps necessary to resolve their differences.  In addition, as a member of the Board of Directors, it is a privilege to be part of the process that ensures we stay true to our Center mission.

After a 36-year career with the Social Security Administration and a 12-year career as a benefit specialist with the Aging and Disability Centers in Brown and Door County, the Mediation Center has been a natural fit for me in continuing to work for the betterment of our community and as a vehicle to improve the lives of individual citizens.  I strongly believe in giving back to the community through this and other volunteer activities.  Outside of these activities, I enjoy spending time with family, travel, golf, hiking and playing competitive bridge.

Dan Bake, Vice President
Dan is a graduate of UW–Madison with a BS in Mechanical Engineering/Thermo Sciences.  His 39 years in the engineering field included technical specialty in boilers and power generation, capital project management, construction and several management leadership positions.  Dan has been on the  Mediation Center Board since 2015.

With his experience in construction contract negotiation and dispute resolution, being a volunteer at the Mediation Center provides opportunity to utilize experience and skills for community service.  My project management and leadership background also brings business acumen to the Board.

I am also HOA President in my community and other hobbies include vintage car and memorabilia restoration.   Over the years I have also designed and general contracted four personal homes.
